Butterfly Marketing is the Buzz
Butterfly Marketing is a buzz word coined by Mike Filsaime in 2006 when he launched his Butterfly Marketing project. He was inspired by the butterfly effect which said that even a small flip of a butterfly’s wings in South America can have an effect on the weather somewhere in Asia. It means a small change somewhere can have a huge effect in other faraway places. Mike then went on further to provide examples about possible changes today if there were small changes happening to our historical events. The results would be a very different world compared to ours today.
When the butterfly effect concept is applied to internet marketing, it means that a small change in a component of your online marketing might create a big change in the result output that you expect. By just tweaking correctly a small part of your website, you would be able to gain much higher conversion rate on your online marketing. The difference can be few hundred thousand dollars. The idea is very exciting and interesting.
The concepts covered started with pre-launch phase, launch phase and post-launch phase. There are many details covered in terms of adjustments required to optimize the online marketing to achieve maximum result based on butterfly marketing concepts. There were many examples provided to make understand the ideas much easier.
