Effective Email Marketing and Autoresponder
There are many ways to market your product. The simplest is building a website. Many people do not achieve success as they just stop there and expect miracle to happen. They expect customers to come in hordes to the website and start ordering.
To improve the situation, since what they need is customers, people think it is easy and they start sending email to few (or many) email addresses and wait for the customers to visit. Right? Probably wrong (90% of the time). It is a trap most people fall into.
In this post, effective email marketing and autoresponder, I would like to touch upon email marketing. It is not enough simply to show people your products. Even if you are sending to targeted people, it is not that straight-forward. The key point here is there must be some compelling reason for those people to buy your product now. Without that compelling reason, if the people don’t buy now, you will never hear from them again. They will probably forget about you altogether when they are ready to buy.
So, the first task is to decide if your product offers a compelling reason for people to buy now. It does not just mean offering discount for certain promotion period after the mailing. It needs more than that. The prospect needs to see an immediate need for the product. So, what is a compelling reason to buy now?
For example – offering significant discount for cold drinks under the hot sun for a limited period will attract passers-by to buy. But, trying the same discounting method for something not essential like toys might not have the same effect.
As another example, we can think of new release of a record album from a very popular rock band. Offering some extra bonus to the sales will definitely get a very good response for the fans even if you add a premium to the price.
So first you have to consider your product. Is it something that can satisfy immediate needs or a popular new release? If yours is in this category, you just need to find the right targeted list and sales will more likely to come in. But, if our products does not fall
into this category like the toys without any compelling need to purchase now, we need to find the right people at the right time.
This is the problem. Sending email to a list of ‘ready-to-buy’ people might generate 5% purchasers. Sending it to ‘toys’ list might also get 5% purchasers which might be spread over the whole year. Those people in the ‘toys’ list might not buy from you if you don’t do something for them to remember you when they are ready to buy.
So, what can you do? The key is in capturing the email addresses from the people in the list who visit your site. Those are the visitors email address that. We want to be proactive in chasing those ‘future buyers’. We want to capture their interest. Therefore, it is essential we need to have a well designed, informative and trustworthy site. At the same time, we also need to make it easy for people to buy.
How do we capture email address? This is done by using autoresponders. It is also important to have double opt-in feature. It means that people who give you their email address must confirm again their intention to receive mailings from you.
To find your targeted list, I would recommend htmail.

GetResponse is an autoresponder that many successful marketers are satisfied with the service.
