Important Elevator Pitch
Elevator pitch is defined as a summary of what you will say when asked by someone in an elevator about your business nature. It has to be short and simple yet easy to understood and intriguing enough so that people remember what your business is doing. The definition is quite long but it is important for every business to have one. We can see the importance of elevator pitch from the definition above.
At least the process of developing the elevator pitch will solidify the business owner’s mind about the nature of the business, the objective and the branding. The elevator pitch should tell people what problems the business is trying to solve and who the audience is. It should be clear, short, stand-out and intriguing for people to know more.
Without going through this process, the business idea might not be as solid as you want it to be. Once you are clear of your business purpose and direction, it is easier to grow the business as you know which way you want the business to go.
Beside having a shorter version, it may be good to also have a longer version. Although you have a good short version, you should also be able to provide more answer if your audience is interested in knowing more about your business. This is important as a successful elevator pitch (the shorter version) will trigger more questions and interests from other people. That is when you need to use the longer version.
